Since its inception in 2005, one
of the most common complaints about the IROCC program has been the quality of the permit card issued to program
participants. Therefore, IROCC is pleased to announce that
there is now a new and improved permit card available. The new permit cards are
made of rigid plastic to better withstand wear and tear. They
also now contain several security features to help prevent illegal
duplication. This card has been issued to all
participants in the IROCC program since September 2008.
The permit cannot be issued without your photo on it. It is MANDATORY that your photo is on the permit.
New IROCC Applicants, please follow these instructions:
* The photo MUST be in color.* DO NOT send Polaroid pictures.* The photo can be emailed to the IROCC office at: jennette@letac.org or irocc@letac.org and MUST be in one of the following formats -- JPG, BMP, GIF, or TIFF. * If
you cannot email a digital photo, please mail an actual photo as
soon as possible so it can be scanned for your card. Of course,
this
will mean a longer wait time to receive your card. * If you mail in a photo, PLEASE do not send anything larger than 4x6.* Make sure your photo DOES NOT have a white or light background, as it does not print well on the permits.*
If you choose to get a passport photo, again, please make sure it is
not on a white background. Blue or gray is fine.* DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHOTO TO THE RANGE WHEN YOU QUALIFY....THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR PHOTO!!!! (The permits come from the IROCC office, so your photos must come directly to the IROCC office as well.)* Please include your FULL name with your photo, whether it is mailed or emailed to the office.* It is recommended you not send in your photo until AFTER you have
qualified, just in case you fail to pass the qualification. This
will save you any added expense.*
There
is a space on the back of the permit to include your blood type and any
allergies if you so desire. This information is not
mandatory, but available if you desire to have it included.* All photos mailed to the office will be returned with your permit.

If you are renewing your application, your photo is already in the
system. There is no need to send a new photo unless you would like to
update from the photo on your current permit.
Please
bear in mind that entering the data into the new system
takes a little extra time. PLEASE be patient and the wait will be well
worth it. You will receive your permit as soon as your photo
is received and all of the information has been processed.
